Alan Scott
In the comics, Alan Scott is the Golden Age Green Lantern. Unlike his space-cop counterpart, Scott gains his powers via magic through a mystical “green flame” that fell to Earth in ancient China. While the character has his publication firmly tied to the Justice Society of America, the film incarnation can be more of a historian role that acts more akin to a mentor role instead of a retired superhero.
