ABC In Talks For ‘Mostly Brand New’ Female Superhero Marvel Series

ABC President of Entertainment Karey Burke has revealed that they are in talks to develop a new series centered on a female Marvel superhero.

Marvel’s Agents of SHIELD will be coming to an end after the current season. However, ABC appears to have already found a replacement for the series. ABC President of Entertainment Karey Burke shared with Deadline that they are in talks for another series with Marvel on the network:

“I have spoken to Marvel and we are in active talks about one project in particular. Something brand new, mostly”

Marvel Television is currently working on other shows centered on Ghost Rider and Helstrom at Hulu. Meanwhile, Marvel Studios announced at San Diego Comic Con Falcon and the Winter Soldier, Wandavision, Hawkeye, and Loki for Disney+.

Here is the synopsis for the final season of Marvel’s Agents of SHIELD:

“There’s no time for the team to play catch-up when there’s a planet to save. The team must trust each other in order to face impending doom and an enemy that’s closer than they think. Out of answers and running out of time, the agents must face the ghosts of their past to move forward.”

Marvel’s Agents of SHIELD stars Clark Gregg, Ming-Na Wen, Chloe Bennet, Iain De Caestecker, Elizabeth Henstridge, Henry Simmons, Natalia Cordova-Buckley and Jeff Ward. The series was co-created by Joss Whedon, Jed Whedon & Maurissa Tancharoen, who also serve as executive producers along with Jeffrey Bell and Jeph Loeb. The series is produced by ABC Studios and Marvel Television for ABC.

Marvel’s Agents of SHIELD Season 6 premieres May 10th on ABC.
