Adam Brody On Losing Flash Role In George Miller’s ‘Justice League: Mortal’

Adam Brody is still bummed that he never got to play The Flash in George Miller’s scrapped DC Comics film, Justice League: Mortal.

Adam Brody was interviewed by Yahoo! Entertainment’s BUILD series promoting his new film, Ready or Not. He was asked about his involvement with the George Miller directed Justice League: Mortal, and based on his statement he remains disappointed that it never came into fruition:

“In hindsight, I should’ve been more bummed [at the time]. I really liked it. But I just kind of felt like, ‘No big deal. The next thing will come.’ And it kind of did, but it kind of didn’t. But nothing like that came along again.”

Adam Brody also praised the script for Justice League: Mortal:

“The script was really good. It’s not that it was revolutionary, and I’m pretty objective about this kind of thing, and I think I have a pretty good gauge of scripts. I thought the casting was right. Not just me, but everyone, tonally, was going to fit right.”

Adam Brody’s missed opportunity to play The Flash in Justice League: Mortal ended up disappointing him even more after he saw George Miller’s acclaimed action film Mad Max: Fury Road. He believes that the film could’ve turned out to become a classic based on the quality of the Tom Hardy-starring vehicle. One can only imagine how Adam Brody would’ve looked like speeding alongside the Justice League as The Flash under the direction of a visionary like George Miller.

Although Adam Brody was unable to play The Flash, he still ended up joining the DC Extended Universe in Shazam! earlier this year. The actor played the grown-up superhero version of Freddy Freeman (Jack Dylan Grazer). Just imagine a scene in the future where Adam Brody’s Freddy Freeman ends up sharing the screen with Ezra Miller’s Flash?

Are you disappointed that we never got to see George Miller’s Justice League: Mortal? Would you have liked to see how Adam Brody’s take on The Flash would’ve turned out?
