James Gunn confirms that Adam Warlock, who is a known in the comics as part of the Guardians of the Galaxy will not appear in 'Avengers: Infinity War'.
*SPOILER ALERT FOR GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY VOL. 2*
During the film’s third post-credits sequence, we see Ayesha (Elizabeth Debicki) discussing her intentions to defeat the Guardians. We see a cocoon, in which Ayesha names “Adam”. This was obviously a reference to Adam Warlock.
Although Adam Warlock is certainly going to appear in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, fans hoping that he will be appearing next year in Avengers: Infinity War are going to be a bit disappointed.
During a Facebook Live session discussing Vol. 2 in spoiler-filled detail, James Gunn revealed that we won’t be seeing Adam Warlock in Avengers: Infinity War:
Adam Warlock will not be in Infinity War … he will have a future in the MCU. But will it be in Infinity War? It will not.
Seeing Adam Warlock alongside the Guardians in Avengers: Infinity War would have been really cool, but if Gunn’s comments are any indication, perhaps its best for Adam to sit this one out and be prepared for his introduction in Vol. 3.
