Last week's premiere of the fourth season of ABC's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. saw the Marvel Cinematic Universe debut of Ghost Rider.
There isn’t much here in the way of the flaming skull (aside from Reyes’ eyes catching fire), but the fire effects on the car are solid and whatever Daisy is after must be worth clinging to that thing as it most certainly doesn’t end well for anyone caught in the Rider’s hellfire. Not to mention, Ghost Rider is typically incredibly powerful and that’s an understatement to say the least. Even someone as strong and fierce as Daisy isn’t likely to stand a chance. And is it just me or does Reyes seem to be holding back a bit here? Some of the more comic book savvy of you may be more educated in that regard than I am.
Regardless, the show’s introduction of the character seems like a solid creative choice on the part of the writers and an interesting way to interweave more supernatural elements into the MCU. Maybe it’s no secret Doctor Strange is the next movie out of the gate, or maybe I’m just spitballing. Either way, we’ll keep you updated as the season continues.
Catch more of Ghost Rider on Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Tuesdays at 10/9c on ABC.
