Even most Marvel’s Agents of SHIELD fans were surprised when ABC renewed the series for a seventh season despite the sixth one still being a few months away from premiering. However, lead star Clark Gregg explained that he heard the series will come to an end after the seventh season:
“That’s the word I’ve heard. The announcement I read was two more seasons, six and seven.”
Of course, viewers are still eagerly awaiting the sixth season and Clark Gregg teased a different experience for Phil Coulson fans:
“I can’t wait for people to see Season 6. People who have been on the journey with me and with Phil Coulson are going to get something very, very different.”
