‘Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D’ Season Four Adds Jason O’Mara As The New Director

If you’ve been waiting for details regarding the new director of the spy organization following last season’s finale, you won’t have to completely wait until September to find out. Marvel has revealed that Jason O’Mara (The Good Wife, Terra Nova, Batman Bad Blood) has joined the cast of the series fourth season as the new director. Details regarding his character are currently being kept under wraps but O’Mara will be playing someone “whose Marvel roots go back to the 1940s.” Marvel’s Head Of Television Jeph Loeb has the following to say regarding this casting news.

“Bringing Jason into the mix as the new Director of S.H.I.E.L.D. forces everyone, particularly Coulson, to reevaluate their role in the Agency. Jason has both the physical presence and acting dynamics that will connect with and challenge even the most loyal agent.”

With everything they’ve got lined up and this new addition to the cast, I’d say that I’m pretty excited about next season and can’t wait to see what the series showrunners have planned. What about you? Do you have any thoughts regarding which character O’Mara could be playing? Let us know what you think in the comments section below.

Marvel’s Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D. returns Tuesday September 20th at 10/9c on ABC.
