New Image From Disney’s ‘Aladdin’ Remake Features Jasmine And Jafar

A new image provides fans a look at iconic characters Jasmine (Naomi Scott) and Jafar (Marwan Kenzai) in the live-action remake of Disney’s Aladdin.

The remake of Aladdin is arriving to theaters next year and, of course, it will feature many of the iconic characters from the original animated film. Two of these characters, Princess Jasmine and the nefarious Jafar, were recently shown in a brand new image released from the Guy Ritchie-directed remake.

Aladdin recently became the subject of controversy because fans weren’t happy with Will Smith’s Genie in his human form. Fandango unveiled a new image from the film and it features Jasmine as the focus but eagle-eyed fans might notice Jafar lurking in the background. Check out the new image from the highly-anticipated film below.

Aladdin isn’t the only Disney remake hitting the big screen next year. Tim Burton’s Dumbo hits theaters in March and The Lion King will arrive in July. The Lion King is directed by Jon Favreau, the same director who helmed The Jungle Book remake in 2016.

We’ll be sure to keep you updated on all news regarding Aladdin as soon as more information becomes available. Are you happy with Jafar and Jasmine in the live-action remake? Which character are you most excited to see in action when the full trailer arrives? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below!

Directed by Guy Ritchie from a script he co-wrote with John August, the film stars Will Smith as the Genie, Mena Massoud as Aladdin, Naomi Scott as Jasmine, Marwan Kenzari as Jafar, Navid Negahban as the Sultan, Nasim Pedrad as Dalia, Billy Magnussen as Prince Anders, and Numan Acar as Hakim.

Aladdin will be released in theatres on May 24, 2019.
