First Reactions For ‘Aladdin’ Praise Naomi Scott & Will Smith’s Genie Is Let Down By CGI

The first reactions for Disney’s Aladdin praises the performances by Naomi Scott and Will Smith, but other aspects of the film are not so good.

Disney’s Aladdin is a live action take on the classic film of the same name. Aladdin stars Mena Massoud as the titular street rat, Naomi Scott as Jasmine, Marwan Kenzari as Jafar and Will Smith as Genie. Aladdin is part of Disney’s new films that re-tell the animated stories in live action form along with a small twist or addition. The first reactions to Aladdin may not be what fans wanted, but at least it’ll be fun. You can view the film’s first reactions below.

The performances by Mena Massoud, Naomi Scott and Will Smith seem to be the big highlights of the film. The first reaction describes Marwan Kensari’s Jafar as “the less said about Jafar, the better” which may not be good news. Even though the film may not be entirely great there are still great performances to see, especially from the very anticipated performance of Will Smith as Genie. Genie is one of, if not the biggest character of the film. Will Smith is known as a charismatic actor and his charisma seems to shine as Genie in Aladdin. Overall, the film’s leads Naomi Scott and Will Smith are described as being great in this new take on the Disney classic, but the the film’s villain is a letdown.
