Alan Tudyk was recently asked if he will be returning to the Wreck It Ralph sequel and the highly-anticipated third season of Young Justice.
Disney’s 2012 animated comedy Wreck It Ralph was based on classic arcade games, and found its heart in the plucky characters that pervaded the film. Its cast was comprised of notable comedic talents: John C. Reilly, Sarah Silverman, Jane Lynch and the jack-of-all-trades in the acting world, Alan Tudyk. A sequel will be released in 2018 – but will Tudyk be involved?
Collider spoke to Alan Tudyk about whether he is slated to return to the role of King Candy in Wreck It Ralph 2:
“It has been suggested that I will be participating in that, but I honestly don’t know specifics. I have not worked on it, to this day. I can say that for sure. I have not been in any recording booths. I was invited to participate in the read-through, but I was in London doing Star Wars. It was a cool, ‘I wish I could, but I’m fighting Stormtroopers.’”
It’s a disappointing revelation maybe, but nothing seems to be set in stone. Collider also questioned Alan Tudyk on if he will be returning to the highly-anticipated third season of Young Justice:
“No, I don’t think so. No one has said anything to me, but those things kind of come up out of nowhere and I go, “Really? Oh, great!” So, possibly, if it comes out of nowhere. I don’t know. It would be cool. If they ask me, I’d do it. Those are always fun.”
It’s encouraging to know Tudyk is open to going back to some of his most iconic roles, even if the future is murky where they’re concerned.
Wreck It Ralph 2 is scheduled to be released March 9th 2018. Alan Tudyk will star in Powerless, which premieres tonight, February 2nd, on NBC.
