New ‘Alien: Awakening’ Details Reveal Ridley Scott’s Plans For The Sequel

Empire has unveiled new details on Ridley Scott’s plans for Alien: Awakening.

Although the disappointing box office performance of Alien: Covenant may have diminished the prospects of seeing another sequel to the science-fiction franchise for the time being, the outlet uncovered a synopsis for what would have reportedly been Ridley Scott’s next project after All the Money in the World. Based on the script written by John Logan, the next Alien film would have pitted the Engineers against David according to the following excerpt:

Logan’s script would have seen the return of Prometheus’ Engineers, with that species’ survivors coming after the genocidal David. Setting-wise, Scott said it was obvious ‘We’re gonna actually go to the planet’. by which we assume he means LV-426.

Ridley Scott returns to the universe he created, with ALIEN: COVENANT, a new chapter in his groundbreaking ALIEN franchise. The crew of the colony ship Covenant, bound for a remote planet on the far side of the galaxy, discovers what they think is an uncharted paradise, but is actually a dark, dangerous world. When they uncover a threat beyond their imagination, they must attempt a harrowing escape.

Directed by Ridley Scott from a script written by John Logan and Dante Harper, Alien: Covenant stars Michael Fassbender, Katherine Waterston, Billy Crudup, Danny McBride, Demián Bichir, Carmen Ejogo, Amy Seimetz, Jussie Smollett, Callie Hernandez, Nathaniel Dean, Alexander England, and Benjamin Rigby.
