After Empire teased its Alien: Covenant edition, pictures from the edition have surfaced online that discuss details and the new alien.
Thanks to the folks over at AVP Galaxy, we have access to these images, as well as new information regarding the film and Michael Fassbender’s villainous role. You can check those images out below, but if you want to remain unsullied, we suggest that you don’t look at them.
It looks like the new Neomorph will bear a closer resemblance to H.R Giger’s original design of the alien, with a much more sleeker, tougher look. The simpler look doesn’t give much away as to what the Alien will look like in action, but it certainly looks terrifying in the still images.
It was already revealed that Michael Fassbender would be reprising his role as an android, albeit this time titled “Walter” as opposed to the “David” we know from Prometheus. The article suggests that David is much more diabolical and chaos-centric than his counterpart, Walter. David will also attempt to sway Walter over to the dark side, despite Walter being programmed to care more for his crewmates.
Ridley Scott returns to the universe he created in ALIEN with ALIEN: COVENANT, the second chapter in a prequel trilogy that began with PROMETHEUS — and connects directly to Scott’s 1979 seminal work of science fiction. Bound for a remote planet on the far side of the galaxy, the crew of the colony ship Covenant discovers what they think is an uncharted paradise, but is actually a dark, dangerous world — whose sole inhabitant is the “synthetic” David (Michael Fassbender), survivor of the doomed Prometheus expedition.
Directed by Ridley Scott, the film stars Katherine Waterston, Michael Fassbender, Danny McBride, Noomi Rapace, Demian Bichir, Jussie Smollett, Carmen Ejogo, Billy Crudup and Amy Seimetz.
Alien: Covenant releases to UK audiences on May 12th, and hits theatres stateside on May 19th.
