A teaser for an upcoming promotional video for Alien: Covenant has arrived. The video will take an in-depth look at how a synthetic like Walter functions.
Back when the viral marketing campaign for Prometheus was underway, Twentieth Century Fox released a short video showcasing how Michael Fassbender’s android character, David, functioned in a short that stylistically parodied Apple commercials. Now, it looks as though another viral video explaining the inner workings of a synthetic person is set to be released to promote Alien: Covenant – this time focusing on Fassbender’s other android character, Walter.
AMD is partnering with Fox to produce a new short displaying how synthetics have changed in the years that have passed between Prometheus and Alien: Covenant. Both of Fassbender’s android characters – David and Walter – will be appearing in the movie, though Walter is the focus of this video since he is the newer of the two models. The short will arrive this Friday.
Ridley Scott returns to the universe he created, with Alien: Covenant, a new chapter in his groundbreaking Alien franchise. The crew of the colony ship Covenant, bound for a remote planet on the far side of the galaxy, discovers what they think is an uncharted paradise, but is actually a dark, dangerous world. When they uncover a threat beyond their imagination, they must attempt a harrowing escape.
Alien: Covenant arrives on May 19, 2017. In addition to Michael Fassbender, the movie’s cast includes Noomi Rapace, Katherine Waterston, Billy Crudup, Guy Pearce, Danny McBride, Demián Bichir, Carmen Ejogo, Amy Seimetz, Jussie Smollett, Callie Hernandez, Nathaniel Dean, Alexander England, Benjamin Rigby, and James Franco.
