Marvel Studios is about expand the MCU with numerous television shows, with the first one expected to premiere later this year on the Disney Plus streaming service. The first round of MCU shows for Disney Plus were announced during the last Marvel Studios Hall-H presentation at San Diego Comic-Con. At Disney’s D23 Expo, Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige announced three more shows for Disney Plus, including She-Hulk.
Not much is known about the upcoming She-Hulk series, but it’s expected that it will feature the return of Avengers star Mark Ruffalo as Bruce Banner. The series announcement also naturally sparked speculation regarding who could play one of Marvel’s most notorious lawyers. It’s rumored that Marvel Studios is looking for an Alison Brie-type actress to play She-Hulk in the series, but many think the Glow star is already the perfect fit to bring the character to life. You can see why in this concept design from digital artist Jackson Caspersz.
What do you think of the artwork? Is there anyone besides Alison Brie who you think you make a good She-Hulk? Sound-off in the comments section!
In the comics, She-Hulk is the alter-ego of Jennifer Walters, a private attorney and the cousin of Bruce Banner. After being shot, Jennifer Walters receives a blood transfusion from Bruce that transforms her into the gamma-powered She-Hulk. However, unlike most incarnations of Bruce Banner’s Hulk, Jennifer Walters retains her sharp wit and emotional control in her She-Hulk form, which later becomes permanent.
Marvel Studios’ upcoming slate of films includes Black Widow, The Eternals, Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, and Thor: Love and Thunder. In addition to the aforementioned feature films, Marvel Studios is developing several shows for Disney Plus, including The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, WandaVision, Loki, What If…?, Hawkeye, Ms. Marvel, Moon Knight, and She-Hulk.
