‘Alita: Battle Angel’ Adds Eiza Gonzalez

Alita: Battle Angel will soon begin filming, so the James Cameron-produced project is rounding out its cast. Variety has revealed that Eiza Gonzalez (From Dusk till Dawn: The Series) has joined the cast of the movie in an undisclosed role.

Gonzalez is reteaming with Robert Rodriguez, who is directing the adaptation of the popular manga series. The actress joins a cast which so far includes Rosa Salazar, Christoph Waltz, Jackie Earl Haley, Ed Skrein, Keean Johnson and Mahershala Ali. The project will begin production later this month in Austin, Texas.

The story follows a female cyborg named Alita (played by Salazar), who is discovered in a junkyard by a scientist (Waltz). After the scientist reactivates her, Alita becomes a bounty hunter with no memories of her previous life.
