‘Alita: Battle Angel’ Delivers Incredible Spectacle In New Super Bowl Spot

The Super Bowl spot for Alita: Battle Angel promises an explosive, spectacle-filled adaptation of the classic Manga.

Alita: Battle Angel hits theaters in a couple of weeks and so far, the trailers and TV spots have promised a very unique type of Manga adaptation. The insane spectacle that visionary director Robert Rodriquez has cooked up seems to fall somewhere 2017’s Ghost in the Shell and 2008’s  Speed Racer, though hopefully, the film will have more critical and box office success than either of those two films.

The Super Bowl spot for Alita: Battle Angel showcases the unique visual design of the film, particularly the titular lead character, who is brought to life thanks to incredible digital technology and actor Rosa Salazar. Check out the new Super Bowl spot for Alita: Battle Angel below.

The trend of live-action adaptations of famous Mangas hasn’t yielded incredibly positive results in recent years but hopefully Alita: Battle Angel will break that trend when it finally hits theaters this month. Actor Rosa Salazar was recently featured in the Maze Runner franchise as the character Brenda, as well as other literary adaptions such as The Divergent Series: Insurgent and last year’s Bird Box.

We’ll be sure to keep you updated on all news regarding Alita: Battle Angel as soon as more information becomes available. Do you think this Super Bowl spot was necessary given that the film will be hitting theaters in just a couple of weeks or do you think this was a smart move for the studio to make? From visionary filmmakers James Cameron (AVATAR) and Robert Rodriguez (SIN CITY), comes ALITA: BATTLE ANGEL, an epic adventure of hope and empowerment. When Alita (Rosa Salazar) awakens with no memory of who she is in a future world she does not recognize, she is taken in by Ido (Christoph Waltz), a compassionate doctor who realizes that somewhere in this abandoned cyborg shell is the heart and soul of a young woman with an extraordinary past. As Alita learns to navigate her new life and the treacherous streets of Iron City, Ido tries to shield her from her mysterious history while her street-smart new friend Hugo (Keean Johnson) offers instead to help trigger her memories. But it is only when the deadly and corrupt forces that run the city come after Alita that she discovers a clue to her past – she has unique fighting abilities that those in power will stop at nothing to control. If she can stay out of their grasp, she could be the key to saving her friends, her family and the world she’s grown to love.

Directed by Robert Rodriguez from a script written by James Cameron and Laeta Kalogridis, Alita: Battle Angel stars Rosa Salazar, Christoph Waltz, Jennifer Connelly, Mahershala Ali, Ed Skrein, Jackie Earle Haley, and Keean Johnson.

Alita: Battle Angel will be released in theaters on February 14, 2019.
