‘Game Of Thrones’ Writer Joins Amazon’s ‘Lord Of The Rings’ Series

It seems that Amazon’s Lord of the Rings series is determined to become the next Game of Thrones as the upcoming Middle Earth series has recently added writer and co-executive producer Bryan Cogman to its staff.

Since Game of Thornes debuted in 2011, Cogman had worked in a number of positions throughout the show. This had included being a writer, an executive story editor, co-producer, producer and co-executive producer in his time on the show. But for now, at least, it seems that the Game of Thornes writer is moving over to Amazon.

According to Variety, the former Game of Thrones writer will be joining Amazon’s Lord of the Rings series as a consultant. Very little else is known about his role in the upcoming series.

The upcoming Lord of the Rings series has been reported to be set thousands of years before the events of Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring and will take place during the Second Age of Middle-Earth. Few other details of the upcoming series, however, have been revealed.
