‘Aquaman’ Star Amber Heard Celebrates Birthday With Mera Cake

Aquaman has a lot riding on it that should give DC fans as well as the rest of the moviegoing public some confidence. For one, with visionary director James Wan at the helm, we are definitely in for a unique entry in the comic book genre. Also, with Jason Momoa leading the charge with his fellow castmates Amber Heard, Patrick Wilson and others along for the ride, this solo outing for the King of Atlantis is something the DC Extended Universe really needs.

Today, Amber Heard celebrates her 31st birthday. And in honor of her birthday, she shared an image of a cake which features her character Mera on her Instagram page:

It sure looks like the cast and crew of Aquaman are really excited to delve into the depths of Atlantis. When the trailer for Zack Snyder’s Justice League film was released, fans responded greatly to Momoa’s Arthur Curry/Aquaman. Hopefully, him and Mera will help bring in new fans of what was once a punchline in the HBO series, Entourage. 

James Wan’s Aquaman, starring Jason Momoa as Arthur Curry a.k.a. Aquaman, Amber Heard as Mera, Willem Dafoe as Nuidis Vulko, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II as Black Manta and Patrick Wilson as Orm a.k.a. Ocean Master, is set to come out in theaters on December 21, 2018. The screenplay comes from Will Beall, with story by Wan and DC Films co-head Geoff Johns.
