Amber Heard Confirms ‘Justice League’ Role

There has been buzz for a while that Amber Heard would be playing Aquaman’s love interest, Mera, in the DC Extended Universe. As of today, Heard herself has officially confirmed this to be true. After appearing as Mera in The Justice League Part One next year, she will move on to play a presumably larger role in the events of Aquaman when it releases in 2018.

While confirming the news, Heard also took a moment to discuss Mera’s costume for Justice League. According to Heard:

“It’s interesting. It’s like, half suit of armor, half scales. It’s strange… We’re in the process of building it now, so it’s coming along.”

The costume may not be finished, but it sounds like Heard has already been presented with a decent idea regarding how the finished product will appear. From her description, it sounds as if the costume we’ll see her wearing in Justice League Part One will not be too different from the sort of thing Mera tends to wear in the comic books.

Justice League Part One, directed by Zack Snyder, is currently scheduled for release on November 17, 2017. Aquaman, which will be directed by James Wan, is currently scheduled for July 27, 2018.
