“We do think that we have a franchise that is one of the rare franchises that you occasionally come across in what we do for a living.”
Now that ‘Fear The Walking Dead’ has really come into it’s own during the second season, it’s obvious that the world they’ve built is here to stay. It’s not as successful as it’s other half, but it’s still wildly entertaining. Sapan clearly knows this, as he isn’t afraid to be proud about their ratings. But given the fact that they have one of the most successful television shows on air, it would be hard not to brag.
“The environment is more cluttered and it is more challenging to be meaningful,” the executive said. “The nice news is that if you look at cable dramas, and you look at the top 10, we have five of them. And that’s a pretty good place to be.”
With both series’ showing no signs of slowing down, it looks like the world of ‘The Walking Dead’ is here to stay. It might not be the case for some of the characters though, given that Negan is set to take the stage when the seventh Season returns on the 23rd of October.
‘Fear The Walking Dead’ currently airs Sundays at 9 PM ET.
