‘American Gods’ Adds Jeremy Davies As Jesus

The cast of American Gods continues to grow. Entertainment Weekly has revealed that Lost alum Jeremy Davies has joined the cast of the upcoming Starz series in the role of Jesus. The character was mentioned in Neil Gaiman’s novel, but he never actually made an appearance, meaning that his role will likely be much bigger in the series.

His character description reveals that he’ll have some sort of connection to Easter, a.k.a Ostara, who will be played by Kristin Chenoweth. You can check it out below:

“Resurrected on Ostara’s feast day, Jesus has always been generous in sharing the Easter holiday with the ancient goddess. But the overly empathetic Son of God would be crushed to know that Ostara harbors some deeply buried resentment over the issue.”

The cast of the series also includes Ricky Whittle, Ian McShane, Emily Browning, Pablo Schreiber, Yetide Badaki, Bruce Langley, Jonathan Tucker, Crispin Glover, Cloris Leachman, Peter Stormare, Chris Obi, Mousa Kraish, Gillian Anderson, Omid Abtahi, Orlando Jones, Demore Barnes, Dane Cook and Corbin Bernsen.

American Gods will debut on Starz in 2017.
