Amy Adams Talks The Imagination That Is Needed To Film ‘Justice League’

It’s no surprise that a film starring some aliens, a super powered Amazon, a half robot, a half fish, a man-blur, and a grown man who dresses up as a bat must have had a lot of imagination put into its creation. Amy Adams, the woman who played Lois Lane in Man of Steel and Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, will once again be playing Lane in the eventual Justice League film, and according to the actress having an imagination is a key component of filming the super hero team up movie.

DP/30 spoke to the actress while at the Telluride Film Festival, and she made it clear that having an imagination is a must when it came to the Justice League. According to Adams:

“It’s different now coming back to Lois for the third time, and in each film her requirements (are) so different. That’s been the challenge. Playing the same character with different requirements for the story. There’s a lot of imagination required. That’s what’s so great about our job, whether we’re on a big set and we have to imagine that we’re in a city that they’re creating around you, or whether it’s just having to build a relationship with the other person. It still requires the same imagination and getting lost in what we create.”

Adams also touches on playing the same character a bit differently each time around, noting that her character changes during each film. At least, how her character reacts to the story being told around her. It must require imagination on her part to figure out how she’s going to react to her environment, and to re-visualize Lois Lane each time she begins a new film. Maybe it doesn’t require as much imagination as a half fish man or a grown adult who dresses like a bat, but you get the idea.

Fueled by his restored faith in humanity and inspired by Superman’s selfless act, Bruce Wayne enlists the help of his newfound ally, Diana Prince, to face an even greater enemy.  Together, Batman and Wonder Woman work quickly to find and recruit a team of metahumans to stand against this newly awakened threat.  But despite the formation of this unprecedented league of heroes—Batman, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, Cyborg and The Flash—it may already be too late to save the planet from an assault of catastrophic proportions.

Justice League is set to premier in theaters November 17th, 2017.
