‘Stranger Things’ Star Finn Wolfhard Is Excited For Andy Muschietti To Direct ‘The Flash’

Stranger Things and It: Chapter Two star Finn Wolfhard is excited to see Andy Muschietti direct The Flash for Warner Bros. Pictures and DC Films.

Finn Wolfhard, widely recognized for his role as Mike Wheeler in Netflix’s Stranger Things and who played young Richie Tozer in both of Andy Muschietti’s It films revealed to THR that he was “really excited” to see the filmmaker move on from his horror background and into the comic book universe.

You can read Stranger Things and It: Chapter Two star Finn Wolfhard’s thoughts on Andy Muschietti directing The Flash down below:

“I didn’t bug him, but I was just like, ‘That’s so cool, man!’ And he was like, ‘Yeah, I’m really excited.’ I’m excited to see what comes out of that; I hope he does it. On the first It, I remember working with Cary Fukunaga, and he ended up leaving. Then, Andy came in, and he’s such an amazing director. It’s one of those things where you’re not making the film until you’re actually on set making it. So, I hope Andy does it; it’ll be sweet.”

It sounds like Finn Wolfhard has nothing but absolute trust in Andy Muschietti’s approach as a filmmaker. Given that he’s worked with him on two films, his trust in Andy Muschietti directing The Flash seems to be justified.

Andy Muschietti is the latest director to sign on for The Flash, which has been long-plagued by creative differences from numerous filmmakers including Seth Grahame-Smith, Rick Famuyiwa and most recently, John Francis Daley and Jonathan Goldstein. Ezra Miller is expected to reprise his role as Barry Allen/The Flash.

What do you make of Finn Wolfhard’s excitement for Andy Muschietti directing The Flash? Are you getting more excited hearing this sentiment from the Stranger Things star? Do you think Finn Wolfhard is interested in having a role in the film?
