“…I don’t want to spoil anything. It’s obviously based around Wakanda. You’ve heard that in the trailer and what the perception of Wakanda is. And what the reality of that place is. And it’s a father-son movie in many ways. Obviously the Black Panther, T’Challa, and his father [T’Chaka] and the relationship between them. Very much a figure coming into his own. Sort of the prince wearing his spurs.”
Fans will recall being introduced to Klaue in Avengers: Age of Ultron, when he assisted Ultron in obtaining black market Vibranium. After insulting Ultron, his arm was cut off, leading fans to speculate on whether or not his cybernetic arm from the comics might be making an appearance. Here is what Serkis had to say:
“I obviously can’t give away too much. But let’s just say that he’s not armless this time…”
It sounds like we have a lot more to learn about how Klaue fits into Black Panther, and we are sure to get more details as San Diego Comic-Con goes on.
Black Panther follows T’Challa who, after the events of “Captain America: Civil War,” returns home to the isolated, technologically advanced African nation of Wakanda to take his place as King. However, when an old enemy reappears on the radar, T’Challa’s mettle as King and Black Panther is tested when he is drawn into a conflict that puts the entire fate of Wakanda and the world at risk.
Directed by Ryan Coogler, the film stars Chadwick Boseman, Michael B. Jordan, Lupita Nyong’o, Danai Gurira, Martin Freeman, Daniel Kaluuya, Angela Bassett, Letitia Wright, Winston Duke, Florence Kasumba, Sterling K. Brown, Andy Serkis and John Kan.
Black Panther will be released in theaters on February 16, 2018.
