Patrick Shoenmaker has been working on his own ‘Indiana Jones‘ project for the past five years, with the culmination being this wonderfully creative animated cartoon. Check out the video below.
The animation brilliantly captures the heart and soul of the Indiana Jones movies, and features recognisable elements from across the series. Marion Ravenwood, bullwhipping and Nazi fighting all have their place in the short video that does wonders. When asked about the project, Shoenmaker expressed just how passionate he is about the classic Lucasfilm franchise.
“Yes, some other heroes came and went, but Indy always held a special place,” he wrote on his blog. After ‘Crystal Skull’ was released, my love for the character was once again fully ignited and with no new movies on the horizon back then, I decided to set up an Indiana Jones project of my own to keep the fire burning a little bit longer. So, that was back in 2011 and ‘a little bit longer’ turned into 5 years of hard work.”
Shoenmaker might have to wait a little longer for some more Indy adventures, as the next film isn’t slated to arrive until July 19th, 2019. The next instalment will see Harrison Ford return to the role and will reunite him with Spielberg once more.
