WarnerMedia CEO John Stankey released the following statement following the announcement that Ann Sarnoff will assume the new position:
“I am delighted Ann is joining the WarnerMedia team and excited to work side by side with such a talented and accomplished individual. She brings a consistent and proven track record of innovation, creativity and business results to lead an incredibly successful studio to its next chapter of growth. Ann has shown the ability to innovate and grow revenues and has embraced the evolution taking place in our industry. I am confident she will be a great cultural fit for WarnerMedia and that our employees will embrace her leadership, enthusiasm and passion for our business.”
Ann Sarnoff currently serves as the president of BBC Studios Americas. She is set to assume her new position as Warner Bros. CEO sometime this summer and will be based in Los Angeles, CA.
This announcement comes over three months after former Warner Bros. chair and CEO Kevin Tsujihara stepped down after an investigation into Kevin Tsujihara’s relationship with actress Charlotte Kirk, which began after The Hollywood Reporter published texts between the two that indicated she sought his help landing acting roles while they were in an apparent sexual relationship together. Both Kevin Tsujihara and Charlotte Kirk have denied any wrongdoing, though Kevin Tsujihara stated he deeply regrets mistakes he made in his life in a memo released to staff on March 8.
