Today, Warner Bros. Pictures released yet another 'Dunkirk' teaser before Friday's new trailer, this time highlighting the 933 ships involved in the story.
Shot on large format 65MM film, Dunkirk tells the story of survival and despair based on the true events of the evacuation of Dunkirk after allied forces were surrounded by the German army during World War II. The narrative itself is divided into three separate experiences, telling the story from the air, the sea, and the beach.
This particular teaser highlights the 933 ships involved in the battle and continues to promote the new trailer that’s set to arrive this Friday at 9 a.m. PST in time to run before screenings of the new Marvel sequel Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, which opens in theaters this weekend. The film stars Tom Hardy, Kenneth Branagh, Mark Rylance, Cillian Murphy, Aneurin Barnard, James D’Arcy, Jack Lowden, Barry Keoghan, Tom Glynn-Carney, and Harry Styles. Here’s the official synopsis:
“Dunkirk” opens as hundreds of thousands of British and Allied troops are surrounded by enemy forces. Trapped on the beach with their backs to the sea they face an impossible situation as the enemy closes in.
