While many people are choosing to self-quarantine themselves in order to curb the spread of coronavirus, Ant-Man and The Wasp star Evangeline Lilly took to Instagram to explain that it’s business as usual for her and her family. The actress said in her post that she’d taken her children to gymnastics camp and they all washed their hands. She soon came under fire in the comments from fans criticizing her decision, with many calling the star irresponsible given the current situation.
Evangeline Lilly replied to several of the comments, mentioning that she’s living with her father who has stage 4 leukemia, and that she’s choosing to keep her freedom rather than compromising for a form of respiratory flu. The Ant-Man and The Wasp star went on to say that fans need to be vigilant so that politicians don’t take advantage of the situation.
“Where we are right now feels a lot too close to Marshall Law for my comfort already, all in the name of a respiratory flu. It’s unnerving…Let’s be vigilant right now. And kind. Watchful and gracious — keeping a close eye on our leaders, making sure they don’t abuse this moment to steal away more freedoms and grab more power.”
