The Ant-Man sequel will start production at the apparent home of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Atlanta, GA, in June of this year according to My Entertainment World.
Although, naturally, news regarding plot and cast is currently sparse, what we do know is that Paul Rudd will, of course, reprise his title role after also featuring in Captain America: Civil War last year. Hope van Dyne (Evangeline Lily), given the title of the film, is presumably set to finally utilise the Wasp suit which was teased at the end of the first film. Michael Pena is also confirmed to return as fan favorite motor-mouth Luis, joining returning director Peyton Reed, who famously stepped in to direct the first film after a parting of ways between original director Edgar Wright and Marvel Studios.
The first film was generally praised by critics and fans alike, especially when it comes to the visual execution of displaying the powers Scott Lang is gifted when wearing Hank Pym’s Ant-Man suit. On that note, Reed spoke earlier in the year on how the sequel will contain some even more surprising displays:
“I can’t really tell you too much yet, except there are going to be things in this movie that you’ve never seen in any movie before. It’s going to be nuts!”
Ant-Man And The Wasp is set for release on July 8, 2018.
