From Vought International to Xavier's School for Gifted Youngsters.
He might be currently starring in the wildly successful superhero show The Boys, but this concept design sees Homelander actor Antony Starr stepping into an MCU-inspired Wolverine suit to replace Hugh Jackman on the big screen. We already know Starr can tackle a character with some complicated issues while adding depth to the role with Homelander, and he’s even said that he’d love to pick up the mantle.
The fan art comes from Instagram user ‘spdrmnkyxxiii’ and shows The Boys star Antony Starr wearing a bulky, armored version of the black and yellow Wolverine costume. It looks similar to the design worn by the X-Men in Grant Morrison’s run of the Mutant team and would translate perfectly onto the big screen. Unfortunately, Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige previously debunked any idea that casting for Wolverine has begun so we might be waiting a little longer for Logan to arrive in the MCU. You can see Starr as Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine replacement below.
What do you make of the concept design? Would you like to see Antony Starr pick up the Wolverine mantle in the MCU? What do you think he’d do differently to Hugh Jackman? Sound-off in the comments section!
Here is the official synopsis for Hugh Jackman’s last Wolverine film Logan:
