‘Aquaman’ Surpasses $500 Million At Global Box Office

Aquaman was the King of Christmas Eve this week, bringing in over $10 million at the U.S. box office.

Aquaman has been ruling the worldwide box office for weeks. Even prior to opening in the U.S., the film had already amassed over $300 million at the worldwide box office. This past Friday, Aquaman finally debuted over the three day weekend in the U.S., to the tune of $67.4 million. When preview screenings are included, as well as the $11.2 million it earned on Christmas Eve, the film holds a domestic box office total of $79 million.

The report comes from The Hollywood Reporter and also states that these numbers bring the total worldwide gross of DC’s latest big screen adventure North of $500 million. The domestic total of Aquaman still failed to reach the domestic opening weekend gross of 2017’s Justice League but it far outgrossed fellow box office debuts this weekend such as Paramount’s Bumblebee and Disney’s sequel to Mary Poppins, titled Mary Poppins Returns.

Coincidentally, original Mary Poppins star Julie Andrews does not have a cameo in the sequel but she did lend her voice to an underwater creature in Aquaman. We’ll be sure to keep you updated on all news regarding Aquaman as soon as more information becomes available.
