‘Aquaman’ Star Amber Heard Given Access To Johnny Depp’s Mental Health Records

Aquaman star Amber Heard has been allowed access to Johnny Depp’s mental health records as part of their ongoing legal battle.

Amber Heard’s legal battle with Johnny Depp has escalated following their messy divorce in 2016, with the Aquaman star being granted access to Johnny Depp’s mental health records. Johnny Depp is currently suing his ex-wife for defamation after she wrote an article for The Washington Post about the domestic abuse she suffered during their marriage. Aquaman star Amber Heard also claimed that Johnny Depp has a long history of violence and substance abuse.

Amber Heard’s lawyers had their emergency motion to obtain Johnny Depp’s medical records approved by a Virginia judge after his lawyers refused to release them. This includes the release of any records of treatment for his mental health. The Aquaman star claims that Johnny Depp’s mental health combined with his problems with substance abuse were prominent factors in the abuse she suffered. “[Depp’s] mental conditions in combination with his rampant use of alcohol and drugs were inextricably intertwined with the abuse she suffered at his hands. Johnny’s relationship with reality oscillates, depending upon his interaction with alcohol and drugs. As Johnny’s paranoia, delusions and aggression increased throughout our relationship so has my awareness of his continued substance abuse.”

Both Johnny Depp and Amber Heard are currently involved in Warner Bros. tent-pole franchises with Fantastic Beasts and Aquaman. Filming for Johnny Depp’s Fantastic Beasts 3 starts in Spring 2020 while Aquaman 2 is still being developed.
