After being a fan-favorite character in 2017’s Justice League, Arthur Curry (Jason Momoa), aka Aquaman, is headling his own solo adventure film. The underwater DC hero had much of his backstory removed from the theatrical cut of Justice League, but if you’re a fan looking to learn more about Momoa’s Arthur Curry, then you may want to take a look at Arthur’s Guide to Atlantis.
The book is currently available to buy via services such as Amazon and gives fans more context to the character and the world of Aquaman before it hits the big screen this December. One key piece of information that the book reveals is Arthur’s age, which can be seen in the Tweet below.
It turns out that Arthur Curry was born in 1986, making him 32 years old in the DC Extended Universe. Much like many of the DC heroes, the comics have depicted Aquaman in various ways, with some giving him a beard and a hook hand, while others have depicted him in a much lighter manner. This new movie is looking to find a happy medium between the two, with Momoa being an intimidating force of nature that can pull of the warrior angle of the character, while also being able to balance that with levity.
The trailers for the film show plenty of humor and of course that iconic shot of Momoa donning the classic orange and green costume prove that the film is not shying away from its colorful source material. We’ll be sure to keep you updated on all news regarding Aquaman as soon as more information becomes available. What are your thoughts on Momoa’s version of Arthur Curry? Are you looking forward to him headlining his own movie? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below!
