Aquaman opens in China two weeks before the film debuts in North America and the anticipated DC film earned $1.19 million from preview screenings in the Middle Kingdom. This is the best opening for a DC film in China since Batman v Superman grossed $1.35 million in previews and later earned $20 on its first full day of release. Should Aquaman follow suit, the latest DC film could earn $17.5 million on Friday and a weekend total of $52 million.
