Aquaman Faces Off Against Black Manta In New Fight Scene Clip

Warner Bros. and DC Films have released a new clip from the upcoming Aquaman film featuring Jason Momoa’s titular hero battling against the villainous Black Manta played by Yahya Abdul-Mateen II.

After his introduction in Zack Snyder’s Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice followed by his return for another in last year’s Justice League, Momoa reprise his role for the third time as the King of Atlantis this month in his very own standalone Aquaman movie.

The film follows Aquaman as he goes on a quest to accept his role as the King of Atlantis while facing off against his half-brother Orm (Patrick Wilson) — who is ready to wage a war on the surface world — and Black Manta who makes his live-action debut in a storyline that has been described as a primal and classic story of revenge. The following clip debuted on The Late Show with James Corden and features Aquaman taking on Black Manta on a submarine. You can check it out below.

Based on characters created by Paul Norris and Mort Weisinger, the script has been written by David Leslie Johnson-McGoldrick and Will Beall based on a story by Geoff Johns, Wan and Beall. Peter Safran and Rob Cowan have produced the film with Deborah Snyder, Zack Snyder, Jon Berg, Johns, and Walter Hamada serving as executive producers.

From Warner Bros. The film reveals the origin story of half-human, half-Atlantean Arthur Curry and takes him on the journey of his lifetime—one that will not only force him to face who he really is, but to discover if he is worthy of who he was born to be… a king.
