Aquaman has hit milestone after milestone, most notably joining the $1 billion superhero club but after six weeks at the box office, the King of Atlantis has managed to swim past Christopher Nolan’s final installment of The Dark Knight trilogy, The Dark Knight Rises ($1.084B).
As for how it measures up to the rest of the DCEU, the film takes the number one spot in the franchise with its worldwide take of $1.09 billion. On the domestic side, the film ranks in fourth place with $316 million behind Wonder Woman($412M), Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice ($330M), and Suicide Squad ($325M).
Warner Bros. is reportedly courting Wan to have the director return for a sequel, however, the director has yet to make a deal as he is currently taking a break while he waits to see a worthy script before he signs on to board the project.

The DCEU will continue next with Shazam! which will be released in theaters on April 5, 2019, and will be followed by Birds of Prey (And The Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn) on February 7, 2020, and Wonder Woman 1984 on June 5, 2020. A standalone Joker film set outside of the DC Films universe starring Joaquin Phoenix as the Clown Prince of Crime is also set to hit theaters October 4, 2019.
