James Wan Teases That The Best Is Yet To Come In ‘Aquaman’

You know how it is with movie trailers, teasers, and TV spots. The viewer wants something to sink your teeth into and wet your appetite, but not too much. You want something that’s different from the last tease, but not too different so it doesn’t look like you’ve been spoiled. It’s a tricky situation for those responsible for cutting together trailers, I’m sure. With James Wan’s Aquaman, though, the director has taken great care to not give anything huge away with the trailers and teases, going all the way back to the first reveal at Comic-Con.

With tickets for Aquaman now on sale, coupled with the most recent and final trailer for the upcoming DC film, fans are no doubt excited for the film to land on their shores within the month. Some have no doubt already cast their lure for tickets, I’m betting. But as is per usual, some have wondered if the film itself may have been spoiled in that most recent trailer. One fan took it upon themselves and jokingly asked on Twitter if everything had been shown in that trailer. Again, all in jest, not an actual freakout.

At the same time, though, it’s possible to want to wait and be surprised by what’s seen in the film and view it for the first time, rather than witness it again after seeing it in a trailer. But then James Wan responded last night and, to quote Vulko, indicated that this was nowhere near close to giving away anything major in the trailer. Here, have a look at Wan addressing this in the tweet below:

So it looks like the Aquaman trailers have just barely scratched the surface and we’ve yet to take a deep dive into what James Wan has in store for us in a little under a month. Personally, though, all I needed to see was that Comic-Con trailer, so hopefully everything after that will be a surprise next month. What do you think, though? Do you believe the Aquaman teasers have done a good job teasing viewers for the film without giving away too much? And what do you hope James Wan brings to Arthur Curry’s world? Let us know in the comments below.

Directed by James Wan, Aquaman stars Jason Momoa, Amber Heard, Willem Dafoe, Patrick Wilson, Dolph Lundgren, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, and Nicole Kidman.

The film will swim into theaters on December 21, 2018.
