‘Aquaman’ Has Major Superman Easter Egg From ‘Man Of Steel’

Aquaman has been filled with many easter eggs and references that fans are still uncovering. In a blink and you’ll miss moment there is an easter egg referencing a scene from Man of Steel.

For fans of DC films, there have been questions as to where was Aquaman during many of the events before his official debut. A moment, in particular, is a scene from Man of Steel in which director of the film, Zack Snyder, confirmed Aquaman had some involvement in. This scene in Man of Steel features Superman being rescued by whales after an oil rig explosion. Zack Snyder has confirmed that the whales were sent by Aquaman.

Well, now James Wan’s Aquaman features a moment that references a scene from Man of Steel that takes place around the same time Superman was rescued.

In this scene from the filmPatrick Wilson’s King Orm is presenting holograms to Jason Momoa’s Arthur Curry that depict how surface dwellers have destroyed the oceans. In one hologram fans can spot an oil rig explosion that is very similar to the one in Man of Steel.

What did you think about this possible connection? Have you spotted other easter eggs referencing previous DC films? Share your thoughts below!

From Warner Bros. Pictures and directors James Wan comes an action-packed adventure that spans the vast, visually breathtaking underwater world of the seven seas, “Aquaman,” starring Jason Momoa in the title role. The film reveals the origin story of half-human, half-Atlantean Arthur Curry and takes him on the journey of his lifetime-one that will not only force him to face who he really is, but to discover if he is worthy of who he was born to be… a king.

Directed by James Wan, Aquaman stars Jason Momoa as Arthur Curry, Amber Heard as Mera, Willem Dafoe as Vulko, Patrick Wilson as King Orm, Dolph Lundgren as Nereus, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II as Black Manta, Nicole Kidman as Atlanna, Ludi Lin as Captain Murk, and Temuera Morrison as Tom Curry.
