‘Guardians Of The Galaxy’ Concept Art Reveals ‘Aquaman’ Star As Drax

Now fans can get their first look at what Aquaman‘s Jason Momoa would’ve looked like in the role of Drax the Destroyer in 2014’s Guardians of the Galaxy.

Aquaman is dominating the worldwide box office right now and this week, it officially became the highest grossing DC film of all time, internationally. Fans might have forgotten that at one point in time, Momoa was going to play a fan-favorite role in Guardians of the Galaxy. Before Dave Bautista got the role of Drax, Momoa was going to play the lovable alien warrior.

Obviously, it never panned out and instead, fans got Bautista’s Drax, who has quickly become one of many fan-favorite heroes in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. What Momoa would have looked like in Guardians of the Galaxy has remained a mystery, until now. Marvel Studios Head of Visual Development Charlie Wen recently shared some concept art of the Aquaman star as Drax via Instagram. Check out the awesome concept art in the post below.

Drax was unfortunately one of the many MCU heroes who fell victim to Thanos’ (Josh Brolin) Infinity Gauntlet snap at the end of Avengers: Infinity War. Luckily, the hero is expected to return in next year’s Avengers: Endgame but the fate of Guardians of the Galaxy: Vol. 3 still remains a mystery.

We’ll be sure to keep you updated on all news regarding Aquaman as soon as more information becomes available. Would you have liked to see Momoa play Drax? If so, who would you have like to see play Aquaman instead of Momoa? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below!

From Warner Bros. Pictures and director James Wan comes an acition-packed adventure that spans the vast, visually breathtaking underwater world of the seven seas, “Aquaman,” starring Jason Momoa in the title role. The film reveals the origin story of half-human, half-Atlantean Arthur Curry and takes him on the journey of his lifetime—one that will not only force him to face who he really is, but to discover if he is worthy of who he was born to be… a king.

Directed by James Wan, Aquaman stars Jason Momoa as Arthur Curry, Amber Heard as Mera, Willem Dafoe as Vulko, Patrick Wilson as Orm / Ocean Master, Dolph Lundgren as Nereus, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II as Black Manta, Nicole Kidman as Atlanna, Ludi Lin as Captain Murk, and Temuera Morrison as Tom Curry.
