Although nothing major or particularly new is revealed in this new international trailer, it sure looks like Warner Bros. is preparing to kick their marketing campaign into overdrive as they prepare to further promote James Wan’s vision of the world of Atlantis.

For all the constant bickering and speculation over the future of the DC Extended Universe regarding recent news such as the probable departure of Henry Cavill as Superman, fans should remain optimistic since it seems that Aquaman, Shazam!, Wonder Woman 1984 and even the elseworlds standalone film Joker are bringing the brand of DC Comics on film into exciting new territory.
Here is the synopsis for Aquaman:
“From Warner Bros. Pictures and director James Wan comes an acition-packed adventure that spans the vast, visually breathtaking underwater world of the seven seas, “Aquaman,” starring Jason Momoa in the title role. The film reveals the origin story of half-human, half-Atlantean Arthur Curry and takes him on the journey of his lifetime—one that will not only force him to face who he really is, but to discover if he is worthy of who he was born to be… a king.”
Directed by James Wan from a script written by David Leslie Johnson-McGoldrick and Will Beall, the film stars Jason Momoa as Arthur Curry, Amber Heard as Mera, Willem Dafoe as Nuidis Vulko, Patrick Wilson as Orm/Ocean Master, Dolph Lundgren as King Nereus, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II as David Kane/Black Manta and Nicole Kidman as Queen Atlanna.
Aquaman opens in theaters on December 21, 2018.
