‘Aquaman’ Director James Wan Didn’t Take Inspiration From James Cameron’s ‘Entourage’ Version

Aquaman director James Wan was asked in a recent interview if the James Cameron Entourage version served as inspiration for the real film.

Before Jason Momoa took on the role, Aquaman had become a joke in pop culture. So much so that Geoff Johns confronted the jokes in his New 52 run. Even HBO’s Entourage featured a fictional James Cameron Aquaman movie that would actually became a massive success in the series. The real first ever Aquaman film hits theaters in the states this week and Wan was asked by The Wrap if he was inspired by the spoof at all, where he jokingly responded:

“No, I’m sorry to say that to you ‘Entourage’ fans out there. No, if anything, I probably was inspired more by Cameron’s ‘Avatar’ than his ‘Entourage.’”
