PHOTO: ‘Aquaman’ Director James Wan Reveals King Atlan’s Corpse; Trident Easter Egg

Aquaman director James Wan took to Twitter today to reveal an easter egg featured on King Atlan’s trident that serves as a nod to the creators of the iconic superhero.

In his post, Wan revealed not only did the production create an Atlantean alphabet for the world of Atlantis, but that King Atlan’s trident features an inscription with “PAUL & MORT” written in Atlantean. Aquaman was created by Paul Norris and Mort Weisinger. The character first debuted in 1941 in the anthology series More Fun Comics.

Based on characters created by Paul Norris and Mort Weisinger, the script has been written by David Leslie Johnson-McGoldrick and Will Beall based on a story by Geoff Johns, Wan and Beall. Peter Safran and Rob Cowan have produced the film with Deborah Snyder, Zack Snyder, Jon Berg, Johns, and Walter Hamada serving as executive producers.
