Taking to Instagram, Aquaman star Jason Momoa confirmed that he would be one of many men of the year for GQ, and that he was particularly surprised when this news was revealed to him. The issue of the magazine features a close-up of the Aquaman star. In his caption, Jason Momoa discusses why he thinks he was awarded the coveted title. One of the reasons the Aquaman star listed was the fact that he’s trying his best to reduce single-use plastics and stop a telescope from being built in his native Hawaii.

In the caption, Jason Momoa also mentions how he wasn’t able to attend the ceremony where he would have received the award due to it being Thanksgiving. The Aquaman star also revealed that his wife Lisa Bonet isn’t particularly buying the award her husband has received. There’s still a bit of a wait for the next Aquaman film to hit theatres. The film will be hitting cinemas in late 2022, with it being reported that the Aquaman sequel featuring Jason Momoa will begin filming in early 2021.
