Following the drop of this new trailer, Millar took to Twitter to express his excitement and give Wan and company a stamp of approval. Of course, like any typical comic book fan he used this opportunity to compare this DC product to what Marvel has at the moment:
Obviously, Millar is doing this in good fun given that he has written his own stories for Marvel that include Old Man Logan and Civil War among others. However, it is interesting to see Millar shower this extended look at Aquaman with such praise.
Also, it seems that Millar is particularly focusing on Wan’s approach to the action as well as the remarkable imagery that is a nice direction for the DC Extended Universe to go. Certainly, Marvel’s track record of recent films have had their share of exciting, well-shot action, but there’s something about Wan’s directorial eye that seems to make this extended footage truly stand out. Here’s to the King of Atlantis!
Do you agree with Mark Millar with the idea that Aquaman can firmly plant the DCEU somewhere superior to Marvel in the pop culture landscape?
