Considering the tagging of Aquaman director James Wan, Wilson must believe that Wan is doing something pretty special with the villains of Aquaman, in which Wilson will share the stage with Yahya Abdul-Mateen II as Black Manta. Given Aquaman and Ocean Master’s family dynamic, Wilson probably has reason to be optimistic. Loki and Thor have similar connections, and Tom Hiddleston’s Loki s generally seen as the best MCU villain. Perhaps the same will hold for Wilson when he puts on the infamous Ocean Master mask in the near future.
While no official synopsis for Aquaman has been released, here is the closest thing we have right now:
Aquaman (Momoa) is the King of the Seven Seas. Leader of Atlantis, he is caught between the surface world constantly ravaging the seas and Atlanteans looking to lash out in revolt. Aquaman is committed to protecting the entire world.
James Wan’s Aquaman, stars Jason Momoa as the title character, Amber Heard as Mera, Willem Dafoe as Nuidis Vulko and Patrick Wilson as Orm a.k.a. Ocean Master and Yahya Abdul-Mateen II as Black Manta, with Nicole Kidman and Temuera Morrison possibly joining the film as Arthur’s parents. The screenplay comes from Will Beall, with story by Wan and DC Films co-head Geoff Johns.
Aquaman, after it’s recent delay, is set for a December 21, 2018 release. What did you think of this little tease by Patrick Wilson? Do you think he has the chance to change the outlook on comic book movie villains? Let us know in the comments!
