Audiences at an early test screening for James Wan's 'Aquaman' praise the film's action and its emotional core, giving the film positive early reactions.
The studio held a test screening for the James Wan-directed Aquaman earlier today, and the film was met with positive reactions. While details on this cut of the film are sparse, the movie has been praised for its action and emotional core. Two sources told Batman-News.com as much, you can check out their tweet below:
Aquaman is still very much in post-production, with reshoots sure to be scheduled and parts of the film reworked before its December release, but early positive reviews bode very well for a movie that had a quiet, on time production cycle. Warner Bros. could very well have a critical and box office hit on their hands, with the visual style that comes with filming underwater action sequences, and, if audiences are to be believed, an emotional throughline that will propel Aquaman to being Wonder Woman levels of good.
Plot details remain under wraps, however, Wan’s upcoming swashbuckling action-adventure centered on the King of Atlantis will dive much deeper into the character’s past as it explores the discovery of his powers and his reluctance to accept his role as King.
Aquaman stars Jason Momoa as Arthur Curry, Amber Heard as Mera, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II as Black Manta, Patrick Wilson as Orm Marius/Ocean Master, Dolph Lundgren as Nereus, Temuera Morrison as Thomas Curry, Nicole Kidman as Queen Atlanna, and Willem Dafoe as Nuidis Vulko.
Aquaman hits theaters on December 21, 2018.
