Heroic Hollywood’s Michael Mistroff was lucky enough to attend the Warner Bros. Hall H panel and catch a short clip from the upcoming movie, introduced by the director:
“The video begins with James Wan presenting a look at never-before-seen footage which opens on the ocean. Two fisherman on a boat suddenly begin to get pulled by something we can’t see. The camera cuts to an aerial shot revealing something MASSIVE beneath them before cutting to under water revealing Ocean Master’s army.”
The army, of course, is made up of Ocean Master’s undersea armada, since he’s planning to take over the surface world. Director James Wan is known for including horror elements in his movies, so portraying Ocean Master as being scary in addition to threatening should make for an interesting antagonist. Since Aquaman is still over a year out from the release of Justice League, it should be safe to presume that we won’t be seeing more footage anytime soon, but for now, this bit should entice fans.
Aquaman will make a splash on December 21, 2018. Its cast includes Jason Momoa as Arthur Curry (Aquaman), Amber Heard as Mera, Willem Dafoe as Nuidis Vulko, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II as Black Manta, Temuera Morrison as Thomas Curry, Dolph Lundgren as King Nereus, Patrick Wilson as Prince Orm Marius (Ocean Master), and Nicole Kidman as Queen Atlanna.
