Last month, it was reported that the Lighthouse set was being built, and in a new set video it has been revealed that set is still under construction.
The importance of this Lighthouse is in correspondence with Aquaman’s origin story, as the lighthouse is where Tom Curry finds Atlanna, the Queen of Atlantis, washed up on shore. Sparks fly between them, and Tom and Atlanna birth a child, Arthur Curry, who later becomes Aquaman.
You can check out the set video below:
There’s no indication as to how important the set will be to the overall film, but it’s expected that a flashback sequence will take place there.
Directed by James Wan, Aquaman stars Jason Momoa as Arthur Curry aka Aquaman, Amber Heard as Mera, Willem Dafoe as Nuidis Vulko, Patrick Wilson as Orm aka Ocean Master, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II as Black Manta, Dolph Lundgren as King Nereus, Ludi Lin as Murk, Nicole Kidman as Queen Atlanna and Temuera Morrison as Arthur’s father, Thomas Curry.
Jason Momoa’s Aquaman will next appear in Zack Snyder’s Justice League, alongside Ben Affleck’s Batman, Gal Gadot’s Wonder Woman, Henry Cavill’s Superman, Ezra Miller’s The Flash and Ray Fisher’s Cyborg, which will also feature Amber Heard’s Mera and Willem Dafoe’s Nuidis Vulko.
Aquaman is slated for a December 21, 2018, release. Justice League hits theaters later this year on November 17, 2017.
