The exclusive Aquaman statue that is available at San Diego Comic-Con unveils the first look at Jason Momoa in the character's classic costume.
Fans got their first glimpse of Jason Momoa rocking a version of the iconic orange and green Aquaman costume from his early days in the comics in the form of a collectible statue. The costume is almost exactly on point with the modern version of the character. Momoa will retire his Justice League costume to try out his new wardrobe when Aquaman splashes into theaters this December.
Aquaman has been somewhat of a joke for DC Comics in the past and his outfit really wasn’t doing him any favors. Judging from the Comic-Con statue, it seems that Momoa can pull off the Aquaman look pretty well and fans will be in for a solid live-action solo outing helmed by the very talented James Wan. This story will see the famed underwater hero tackle his past while fighting to protect the future against a looming threat lurking under the seas. Aquaman will save the day in his classic colors when the next installment of the DC Extended Universe releases later this year.
Directed by James Wan and written by Will Beall, Aquaman stars Jason Momoa as Arthur Curry, Amber Heard as Mera, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II as Black Manta, Patrick Wilson as Orm Marius/Ocean Master, Dolph Lundgren as Nereus, Temuera Morrison as Thomas Curry, Nicole Kidman as Queen Atlanna, Randall Park as Dr. Stephen Shin, and Willem Dafoe as Nuidis Vulko.
Aquaman is currently scheduled to be released in theaters on December 21, 2018.
