Pitbull’s ‘Aquaman’ Song Hinders Thor’s Arrival In ‘Avengers: Infinity War’

Could it have been intentional that Pitbull’s “Africa” in Aquaman ended up becoming a meme for other comic book films? Perhaps. From its inclusion in Thor: RagnarokBatman v Superman, and Wonder Woman, Pitbull’s song is either enhancing or skewering your take on certain scenes in comic adaptations. Now one fan has taken it upon themselves to add the song to a key moment in Avengers: Infinity War.

After Eitri, Groot, Rocket Raccoon, and Thor work together to forge Stormbreaker, the trio of Thor, Rocket, and Groot arrive on Wakanda to the tune of Alan Silvestri’s “Avengers” theme. It’s a crowd-pleaser of a moment on Infinity War, no doubt, but what if we added a splash of Pitbull’s “Africa” from Aquaman to the scene? Well, let’s find out, as you can see in the tweet below:

Admittedly, there is something a bit lost in translation when you remove the triumphant sound of the “Avengers” theme. Thor’s arrival in Wakanda is a strong moment in the film and to have Silvestri’s theme accompanying the moment just enhances the scene. But it’s all in good fun, of course. Plus, hey, the battle with the Black Order’s forces is taking place in Wakanda. Would be wrong to not have Pitbull’s song show up here, right? And at least the Aquaman song isn’t being played over the snap moment in Infinity War.

Though now that I’ve said that, it probably will be. And that’s another key moment from Infinity War that involves Thor, so now that seems like the next logical place to put Pitbull’s song. What has been your favorite inclusion of the Pitbull song so far? Do you have any favorites? And how well do you think the Aquaman song blends with Thor’s arrival in Avengers: Infinity War? Let us know in the comments below.

Avengers: Infinity War is available now on home video. Aquaman is now playing in theaters.
